This poem isn't about fireworks, BBQ's, or even the annual celebrations within any specific country. Freedom is important to everyone, in every country, but especially so I think to those who write. Without freedom, there is no poetry, no prose, no new words of Truth.
This is a very personal exploration of Freedom. Not everyone will agree with my conclusions, not everyone will agree that true Freedom comes only from within. And that disagreement is the way it should be. After all, that's what Freedom is all about.

Each year, our local newspaper runs stories about helping out the less fortunate during the holiday season. One year they asked for stories describing special acts of kindness. While not a story, I submitted this poem.
Each year, instead of Holiday Cards, I write a poem that reflects the year just ending. I print it on pretty paper and give them to my friends and coworkers.
This greeting was written in an especially hard year for me and my coworkers. Three lovely women were struck with illness; one died suddenly and the other two lingered and passed away just recently. Amid this, we were asked if we wanted to exchange gifts. No one wanted to and there was an excuse from everyone. Not enough money. I don't know what to get. All of these things were the inspiration for this poem.

This was written for my husband at a time when I could not afford to buy him a birthday gift I gave him this poem and he has kept the small piece of paper in his wallet for 13 years now.
This is part of a Mother's Day present that I'm giving to my mom. This poem is all about her.
The greatest gift ever given to man is so often lost amidst the wrapping paper, cooking, shopping, and the one million other things that must be done! Quiet reflection on this incredible gift brings such a sweet release from all the tension! The only way to truly enjoy the Holidays!
This is a Christmas wish to be sent to friends you care about, wishing them the best things in life.
