This poem isn't written about one of my experiences but of one of my friends. She recently met a guy that she loved and he did nothing but lead her on! He deliberately built up her hopes and laughed as he watched them tumble down again when she found out he didn't like her.

I have nothing against guys, but I do have something against the heartless, gutless ones who are too chicken to say the truth and would rather watch someone else get hurt when the truth finally does come out.

Some people don't believe that teen love is really love, some don't even believe it is possible. But believe me, everyone knows when they have found the one that they love, and my friend really did love this guy! She did not brag on about him as an obsession, yet she did not forget about him and only think of him when he was near. She only spoke of him in ways that a lover is spoken of and everyone who heard her speak of him knew that, too.

So to anyone who reads this poem, guy or girl, think about it and ask yourself if you are hurting someone who doesn't deserve to be hurt. I know that my friend didn't deserve it and neither does anyone else.

Love is often thought of as an illusion. Many do not even believe it exists. I disagree. But I do think it is, sadly, a rarity and that many make the mistake of assuming it does not exist based on past bad experiences. I wrote this when I was 17, and I think this poem was my way of dealing with pain and the understanding that I had to look a bit harder to find what I was looking for.

Sometimes you see a person for the first time and feel strangely connected to them. You learn and grow together. Have many first's together, first love, first kisses, first break-up, first fights. I found someone like that, his name is Stephen. We grew on each other and became fast friends, we stuck by each other no matter what. Granted we had our fights but we always made up soon after saying we were sorry and we couldn't live without each other around for help. We've been through a lot.

Then one night we were talking with my friend Jess, and he just left, walked right out in the middle of our conversation. I was hurt, and betrayed. This poem is the results of that. Of course we made up the very next morning.

This is about a girl that thought she found love, but after she gave up her virginity, the guy left her. Lost love....

Back before I was with my ex-boyfriend, I met a guy through Infoseek Chat. He and I fell in love and went out. You could call it love at first chat! *lol*

However, a few months into our relationship, I didn't hear from him for four weeks. I couldn't go on and assume that he was still out there... so, I assumed we had broken up. I still haven't seen him, to this day. During the few months of our relationship, I was sitting in one of my classes, longing to be with him, and this is what came from that. If you ever get to read this, Tom, I still love you, even though I go under a different name now.

I wrote this poem on the day that my best guy friend, who I know I was truly in love with, asked me who the new love of my life was. I suddenly burst into tears and I couldn't even talk to him after that. Eventually, I did and we were best friends again. I told him how I felt, and he claimed he felt the same way.

For awhile we were together and he made me promise if things didn't work out, we would be best friends again. Everybody knows that can never be. When you love somebody so much, you can never go back to the way things used to be, it's just too hard when you have the same feelings of love. Right now we are no longer friends, as I predicted, but I still feel the same exact way. It makes me hate him so much to know how much he hurt me, and that my feelings, after a year still haven't changed.

About how you can fall in love so unexpectedly with your best friend. How hard it is to deal with seeing the guy you love with all your heart and would trust with your life with the girl he loves so much. Seeing him be hurt at the same time you discover you are truly in love with him.

I love this person and he doesn't know. Now he's leaving me and I wish I could tell him
