This is a poem about the beauty of friendship... about eventually falling in love, in more than one way, with your best friend. It is about realizing that one person knows you better than anyone one else, and you love and cherish that aspect of your relationship.
I wrote this on a night I was feeling sorry for myself. My best friend in this world is a married man who I love dearly. I respect his situation but will always wonder what it would be like to have just one day in his wife's shoes. She doesn't realize how lucky she is. Before you are quick to judge, I am not looking to break up a marriage. I only want to express the feelings I have locked inside.
This poem is about my feelings toward my best friend. To me he is truly beautiful, although the word beautiful is not commonly applied to a man. The emotions which rage within him, his past which struggles to beat him, show me a strength which I have never seen in anyone else. He gives me the truth that I need in this crazy world. Although he is now out of my life, due to many mistakes on both our parts, the memory of him will always remind me to be who I am. And in my heart, he will always be just a little bit more than my best friend.
Sometimes life hands us things that "just happen", be it good or bad. Because we are mortal, we all make mistakes. Because we are human, we feel them.
Having an illicit affair is one thing, but when it's with your best friends husband . . . it's another. This poem was written from the stance of the betrayer.

I had this friend who I had known my entire life. He and I were pretty close and we let lust come in the way of that. Now all I am left with is my memories and of course, tears. He read this and told me it was beautiful and I haven't spoke to him since.
This was hard for me to write because it was not pre- written and I usually use a lot of imagery. This poem is about a guy I've been around for a year now. He doesn't know how I feel about him. No matter how much I'd like to tell him I wouldn't never do anything to jeopardize our friendship. This poem shows that someone can hurt you with out knowing, but keep you coming back for more.
I wrote this poem about a very close friend of mine. I'm not sure exactly when I realized how I felt about her. Well, anyway, I wrote this poem when I found out that she basically had no romantic interest in me.
I knew this girl all through high school. We were buds, chums, but then one day she caught my eye in a totally different way than ever before. I began to care far more than I ever did. That is where this poem came from. Sad thing is she never read it. I never got a chance to give it to her. We had a falling out just days before I was planning to give it to her. I always wondered what would have happened if I would have given her the poem sooner. I guess I will never know.
This poem is about a dear friend whom I met by pure chance. I have often wondered what would have been if our lives had taken different paths.
I recently shared the most wonderful weekend of my life with an old friend. Even though we passed the boundaries of strictly friendship, we found something in each other that was never expected. Now that the weekend is over, all that is left for me to do is to dream . . .
