This poem was written on a very sad night. I was very upset about what had just happened in my life. The girl I was in love with decided that it wasn't going to work anymore. I knew it too, but did not want to face the reality of it until I was forced to.
This poem is about someone that has loved another person, even though it was wrong in the eyes of society. She has done what she thought she must, even though it caused her great heartache in the end. And after all is done and said, she still loves this man.

My poem is about holding people back. I held back a past love, and therefore, I lost him.
But even though we lose someone, it doesn't mean they can't be in our thoughts.

Even normal day to day things become alien when you are lost inside yourself. The struggles to regain a sense of ourselves when we have long been part of another person is a test of our ability to navigate in a strange new world.
I wrote this poem about a man that I feel very strongly about. He is very attractive, but, of course, you can't judge a book by it's cover.
