I don't know if I would exactly call this a love poem, more like an "after love" poem. After a breakup one of the hardest things is seeing the one you love with someone new. This short poem describes the many different feelings that bombarded me on the day of my wedding.

Being a newlywed, as I look back on all of the preparations for the wedding and the havoc on that day, it would seem to me that all of the physically exhausting work done could not prepare me emotionally for the profound feelings that rushed through me. It is difficult to grip emotions that change so drastically from one extreme to another.

Finally, I can now see the humor in the utterly ridiculous way that we prepare for a slight moment in time when we utter just two words.

LOL Children are often the best inspiration for me. This particular poem will be included in a book of Children's poetry of mine due out next year entitled: "The Prince of Nonsense. "

As a Children's Author I related to my own childhood when writing this poem. It is basically a kid who is fantasizing about being an only child. The humor comes from my own experiences at the age of seven.
