Forever Far by Kerry
Leaving my best friend for another country I found that this was what I felt when I began to miss her; knowing that I only get to spend a couple of days a year with her.
Life hands us many different things, good and bad. One of the greatest gifts we receive is the love of a good friend.
This short little poem was created in that little moment that we all go through when we feel alone in the world and no one seems to understand our pain. No one that is, until you realize that there is a special person in the world called your friend and they can make it all better. This is the greatest gift.
This poem was written for my best friend, whom has given me a great deal of support and love. Her friendship has helped me in so many ways, saving me from despair, and lifting my spirits.
A true friendship that lasts throughout the years is rare indeed, and to be treasured as a priceless gift.
I am a senior citizen, and I love the Internet, as it is my path to the outside world and my social life. Deaf since I was a teen, I have found it does not matter here that I can not hear, and I have many cyber-friends.

I wrote this poem in the 1940's, when I was eight years old. Even then I realized the value of friendship. Although it is childish and short, it still means a great deal to me.
This poem is about my friend, from whom I got separated for several years. Before we got separated, we had been very close friends. Since our childhood, we played in the same neighborhood for twelve years. We studied in the same school. We were practically best pals. Recalling the past, we used to go to the woods and explore the surroundings. Then, we'd end up sitting on a huge rock overlooking the city. We would talk about a lot of things. We had a lot of things in common. We even shared our dreams. Those were just a part of the memorable moments we had. Before long, we grew up and went to study for college. At present, we have poor communication, since I am studying far from our hometown. Indeed, we had a lot of memorable moments we shared for a long time. Now that we have been far from each other, I miss her so much. But I know that we will always be the best pals.
Everyone needs someone. Someone who will accept them, listen to them and let them know they are not alone. What of those who have no one?
They may wind up taking drastic measures.

I wrote this poem for my friend Ann, who always took the time to listen to me and help me through my problems when nobody else would.
This was written to thank a friend on a forum of Passions in Poetry for listening, supporting me, cheering me up, and basically, just being there for me during a very trying time in my life. I wanted to do something special to thank him, and, since we're both poets, I thought a poem would be a good way to say, "Thank-you."
