I wrote this after spending a fantastic time just being with my girlfriend. It was meant to try and capture those special moments in life, I'm sure you know the ones I mean. Anyway, perhaps I've gone a bit further than that, and strayed into a description of sex, and when I realized this I thought, "Well isn't that natural?" Maybe it's no surprise that this poem has turned out as it has, perhaps it is a fundamental thing that those special moments are so special because they are very similar to the most special of acts.

This is a poem that I wrote after one of the first dates my husband and I had. I remember feeling totally elated, as if I were truly walking on air. Three years later he still makes me feel that way!
This poem was written in the first flush of falling in love with the man who later became my husband. My earlier experiences of relationships had left me sad and cynical, yet this time, this experience woke a deep wellspring of joy.
When all is quiet but your thoughts are loud, you looking upon the one you love and realize that they are much more then the sum of their parts.
