I am a humble beginner when it comes to poetry, but this poem is very special to me because of who it is about. We've been through a lot, and have a lot yet to go through. . . and one of the biggest things that ties us together, is our total acceptance of one another. Love you Cookie Monster…

In my home, we have no air conditioner and I am the only one with a bedroom fan. The fan is useless. In fact, I often resort to sleeping in a tent in the backyard for part of the summer in order to get a decent nights sleep. I don't remember exactly what struck me to write this poem. But whenever I read it, it almost makes me look forward to those summer nights again.

I think we have all gone through periods of our life where we are very unsure of what we are doing and where we are going. The same thing happens with relationships. They change, they evolve, they end. We usually have little choice in the matter. In this particular relationship. . .I didn't want anything to change. Thankfully, it turned out for the best. And I'm closer to this person than I've ever been. . .
