I had been a subscriber of AOL for three days when I met the man of my dreams. We met in a chat room, and were immediately drawn to one another by a force that neither of us understood . . . and still don't. We have so many things in common it's almost spooky sometimes . . . we were even born on the same day.

I had heard people talk about "falling in love" on the Internet and I would laugh and shake my head in disbelief. How could you possibly fall in love with words? I now understand exactly how that can happen. We are 1152 miles apart and I don't think that we will ever be together in a physical sense. Others complicate this matter so completely, and I think that we both know in our heart of hearts that there is no future for us. I feel blessed that I have had the opportunity to have this very special man in my life . . . if only for a while. His voice is a ray of sunshine in my life. He has brought about feelings in me I did not know I had. This is only my second poem ever . . . do not judge it too harshly . . . just let it speak to you.

Its about falling in love on-line and waiting to meet that person, anticipating the first time we meet. I met this guy on line and he is all I think about. And I cant wait for us to meet. And he is always asking if I'm ready to meet. I'm always on line looking for him my heart starts racing and he makes me sweat.

I was new to the Internet and decided to try "chat" not knowing I was about to meet the man of my dreams that very evening. I was one of those people who thought Internet relationships were foolish. I wrote this to let him know exactly what I feel for him. This is an incredible person.

This poem was written on my way back from a first meeting with a beautiful woman (I had answered an ad that I had found on the net). We talked on the phone for several weeks before our meeting. In those few weeks I had fallen in love with this beautiful woman - her thoughtfulness and kindness - and the voice of an angel. With the talks and the e-mails, I felt her feelings were the same.

We met on an April evening in her hometown. When I first saw her, I felt that I had never known such beauty and joy. We spent two wonderful days together, and I fell even deeper in love with her. Things were beautiful; but the whole time I felt there was something wrong on her part, and I couldn't put my finger on it. I may never know...
