The Sea by Elizabeth Tew
Transfixed I stand and watch
the Tireless Sea
As it's waves crash upon the shore,
spraying it's white, salty foam
Against the jagged rocks and cliffs below,
then returning into itself

The tireless sea
wherein its immeasurable depth
secrets lie buried,
never to be revealed

The tireless sea whose temperament is so mystifying
it neither fears, nor needs any man
but gathers its strength from within.

I am so thrilled by the sound, beauty, the force of the sea that I am compelled to write about it. Nowhere else on earth do I feel so much peace as I do when at the sea. It mystifies my entire soul.

bubble Its very touching and provoking one to fight - Divya
bubble Mrs. Tew; I am an artist. I painted a picture of the sea in pen and ink with watercolor wash. I scanned it and made a birthday card for a very dear friend of mine who is in a nursing home. We live in Daytona Beach and love the seashore. I would like to insert this poem in his card. So that as someone reads the card he can see the ocean- one of God's great works of art. - Gloria
