Better Tomorrow by Amy M. Jones
She can feel the pain
and also the sorrow.
She doesn't want to go on.
So she prays for a better tomorrow.
It's hard for her to cope.
She'd like to runaway.
In her heart she knows
that she can't stay.
You can see the sadness
deep within her eyes.
She would like to stop the madness,
but instead, she just cries.
She prays for strength to move ahead.
To survive another day.
She pleads for the courage to be brave
so she can simply walk away.

This poem is about woman who was stuck in an abusive relationship. Or at least she thought she was stuck. She is very sad and depressed. She does not want to go on like this. She is very scared that if she leaves she will be seriously hurt. She knows that she can't stay but she does not have the courage to leave.
This poem is very personal to me because it is actually about myself.

i love this poem because i am going through a breakup with a guy who i have been with for the last 5 years. he was abusive mental and physical. it hurts everyday because i miss him but i know that i am so much better without him. but this poem really mad me cry. it touched my heart because i would love to have the strenght to just walk away. i just wanted to write and say thankyou for writng and sharing your poem. contessa. - contessa |

this poem touched my heart i am sorry for those children who are being abused even though i am also only a child but at the age of 14 i would like to do something about it and to help. Its a terrible thing being abused by your own parents even though some of us dont like to mension it maybe you can tell someone that you will never meet. will your parent do it again a third n fouth time? i though your dad is supposed to protect you not scare you.
