This Land Beyond by Leonna
This is a place and time
Without violence, without crime
The air is pure, the water is clean
Our earth is our garden, ever so green
Homes for everyone, no one's in need
Never to hunger, nor is there greed
Men have dignity, men have pride
Never standing in shadows with something to hide
Children are cherished, not to neglect
Elders are loved, treated with respect
Death is accepted and understood
For beyond old age is everlasting and good
There is no mystery, nor wonder here
Things are simple, there is no fear
This is a time for all to be done
Where men work together and live as one
A place we long for, life is a song
Not just a dream, this land beyond.

I wrote this poem because I have been sad and concerned about the crime, corruption, immoral behavior, growing desensitization among teens, and anything else that is going wrong in this country. This poem describes the place that I long for.
