Tractability by Tina K
no more
harpoons
spears
arrows
pinpricks
no more

dust motes fly towards freedom
upon impact
the worn leather gives but will not break
beaten smooth over the years
yet never yielding
the stolid cylinder swings
and comes to rest

no NewtonÂ’s helper
no opposing force
soaring away
no pressure
dampened contact saves the vessel

the pendulum swings
back again for more
dead hung
incapable of falling
unable to leave the ring

We are all many things: students, parents, employees, consumers, friends - the list of titles is endless. But no matter what or who we are, no matter what life throws at us, we have to roll with the punches. This is a commentary on taking life in stride from the point of view of an inanimate object.
