Time Goes By by Eric Galla
Watching the country race by,
Seeing the buildings sprout wings,
As the scene around me changes,
Time goes by.
Watching the cars around me,
Changing at every glance,
As the world around me changes,
Time goes by.
Watching those around me,
Seeing my friends grow older,
As the world around me ages,
Time goes by.
Watching myself grow older,
Seeing the mirror mature,
As the world expands around me,
I almost wish time stood still.
Seeing the buildings sprout wings,
As the scene around me changes,
Time goes by.
Watching the cars around me,
Changing at every glance,
As the world around me changes,
Time goes by.
Watching those around me,
Seeing my friends grow older,
As the world around me ages,
Time goes by.
Watching myself grow older,
Seeing the mirror mature,
As the world expands around me,
I almost wish time stood still.
This poem was inspired by a long bus ride. On this ride I had a lot of time to reflect on who I was, who others saw me as, and how I saw others. I think that this poem is a nice way of looking within yourself to see just who you are. Take some time and look around yourself. Try to appreciate all of it. Everything that you do, or see will change your life in some way. Let it.
