Why cant you say the word
The hurtful word goodbye
How long can I linger
How much longer will I cry

Have I played the fool
Been a fool long enough
Yes, I do know this,
Yet good-byes are really rough

A word I do not like
I would rather say gday
Waiting, patiently, lingering
Still on my mind you prey

I know it will be hard
Good-byes are what I fear
Still open without closures
I dry up another tear

One day it will come
Maybe soon that fateful day
I still think its difficult
Good-bye's so hard to say

One of the most difficult words to say, especially to ones you never want to close off from, its the longing and wanting to know are they still open for you.
