Grab The Rope by Diane Blue
I have found the one that was meant for me
A kindred spirit, my one and only soulmate.
We are connected in every way
Almost
He lives so far away.
It seems like a cruel joke being played upon me
A tease, a wicked twist of fate.
To find each other, share, and love
Then to have him go away.
The distance is my enemy, I hate every single mile.
I wish I could throw a rope and have him grab the other end
Maybe if we pulled real hard,
We could close the empty space between us
And be together again.
I once had a very special relationship with a wonderful guy. He lived 8 hours away. The distance did do us in...in a way, but it didn't sever us. I'm glad of that.
| I read this poem and as strange as it may seem i also had a relationship with a man who lived miles away, i tied up so much time talking to him and got to care a great deal for him, yet this poem had a lot of meaning to me. The lost connection i had with him is one of the reason i love the other poem you also wrote, "lets make a deal". I mailed that poem to a friend and she just loved it, and made the comment that we all feel that way sometimes, i printed it off for some other friends also and they loved it. - hope |
