Free Fall by Tara Simms
Standing on the edge
Discovering fears deep inside
The swirling abyss lies before me.
Beckoning,
Taunting,
Calling my name.

Slowly moving forward,
Hanging on with both hands, my eyes closed.
Afraid to slip,
Afraid to see.

A leap of faith:
Plunging into the unknown.
Total release.
Complete surrender.
Flying free.
Falling fast.
No holding back.

Knowing you’ll be there to catch me.

We all have our own ideas on what love is and the difference between being IN LOVE and LOVING someone. This is my definition of what it means to fall in love. Maybe this will make it easier to understand why some people are afraid to fall.

bubble This poem spoke volumes. especially in my case. Some people never realize the difficulty some people have surrendering their love because of previous pain and hurt. The difficulty arises from fear that still lingers within, the fear of repetition. Its awesome that you summarized all that in such a beautifally written poem. Best of luck in life and in love. - Lisa
