I'll Be by Nancy Ness
What do I think?
What'll I say?
Thoughts on the brink
Of fleeing away.

Words in my mind
Floating about
Thoughts too confined
Stand up and shout!

Tell them all now
They're listening still.
They may not care now
But hear me they will.

Who cares of the rest's
Opinions of me?
My plan's the best
I'll be what I'll be!

We all try to please some of the people some of the time, but there comes a time when you really just have to please yourself!

bubble Nicely done and well written poem. I agree that you must please yourself and make yourself happy before you can do the same for someone else. Keep writing poems you seem to have a very good insight into things. - Howard
