The Rose by Edward Racey
A petal falls from a dying rose
and gently crashes to the floor.
Just outside a cold wind blows.
A petal falls from a dying rose.
Then this window I will close
and open up this beating door.
A petal falls from a dying rose
and gently crashes to the floor.

The Rose symbolizes the "closure" of a love lost, and the opening of the heart to new loves. Although moving on can be extremely difficult, it is also very necessary. This poem holds a special place in my heart, and I hope it may find a way into yours. Thank you for reading. -E.R.
